Frequently asked questions

How do I start services?

Getting started is simple:

  1. Reach out to us through our website or by phone.
  2. We’ll schedule an initial consultation within about a week.
  3. During this first step, we’ll talk about your needs and match you with the right provider.

Do you accept insurance or offer private pay options?

We offer private pay options, and some of our therapists have sliding scale fees available based on your financial situation.

What are your office hours?

Each provider sets their own schedule, so hours may vary. We offer flexible appointment times, and two locations for your convenience, including daytime, evening, and virtual sessions to fit your life and schedule.

What should I expect at my first appointment?

Your first appointment is a chance to get to know your therapist and share what’s bringing you in. You’ll talk about your goals and start building a plan together. It’s a relaxed, supportive space—no pressure, no judgment.

What’s the difference between therapy, counseling, and coaching?

  • Therapy (or psychotherapy) focuses on helping you work through emotional issues, mental health concerns, and past trauma with a licensed professional.
  • Counseling is often short-term and solution-focused, helping you handle specific challenges like stress or relationship issues.
  • Coaching is more about setting goals and making changes in the present or future, often used for parenting, career support, or personal growth.

At Lyons View, we offer all three—so we can support you wherever you are in your journey.
